Having trouble finding a counselor? Your out-of-network benefits may be able to help

Have you considered using your out-of-network benefits in order to be able to choose from a wider pool of counseling options? 

You may be experiencing difficulty in finding a counselor who has availability and takes your insurance. If so, it can be helpful to understand any out-of-network benefits that are included in your coverage. This may allow you to choose from a wider group of providers who work with clients out-of-network. Although most OON coverage has a higher copay/coinsurance, it will likely be significantly less than you would be paying out of pocket if you are forced to forgo insurance benefits in order to find a counselor who can start working with your right now. The easiest way to clarify these benefits is to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card or log on to your account and review the Summary of Benefits.
